Day 48

Day 48
October 25, 2015

I awoke early this morning with an eye on the weather.  I planned to get an early start so as to avoid the stronger winds later in the day.  Unfortunately the winds were strong out of the east all night and were blowing strong early in the morning.  I began riding at 7:00am and worked my way along the coast toward Pensacola entering Florida about 8:30 and stopped for a quick photo.  I was hoping the winds would subside a bit as I rode further inland but that was not the case.  I just kept my head down and kept a steady cadence.  There was a good bit of traffic to keep me occupied.

I stopped at a Burger King late in the morning to get a bite to eat.  As only God can orchestrate, “Joyce” took my order and asked me about Water Cycle.  I told her about the ride and the greater purpose of how God is faithful in the midst of our most difficult times.  I gave her a Water Cycle card and sat down to eat my sausage biscuit.   A couple of minutes later she walked over to the table and gave me a small amount of cash that she had in her pocket and said she wished she had more to give but that she wanted to give what she had.  Emotions of gratitude welled up in me as I witnessed Luke 21:1-4 come to life.  I had the great privilege to pray with Joyce before I left.

I am grateful to God that He has continues to show me His heart as He introduces me to His wonderful people across the country– just like Joyce.

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”  Luke 21:1-4
